Covid-19: April 2021 Update
Face-to-face teaching is once again set to go ahead, an update on the Summer Showcase Concert and a reminder of safety procedures during face-to-face lessons.
Face-to-face teaching
After consulting with the ISM and EPTA UK, I can confirm that face-to-face lessons will be available again to all students from Monday 19th April. I know that this is tremendously exciting news that has been eagerly awaited, however, there will still be some limitations on face-to-face lessons. The following restrictions will remain in place from April 19th:
Face coverings must be worn when entering or leaving the premises, to prevent back-to-back students from contaminating each other.
Students must use the hand sanitiser provided before playing the piano.
The piano will be sterilised and cleaned in between lessons.
Parents are permitted to sit in on lessons, but they must be socially distanced while doing so.
Please do not attend piano lessons if you suspect that you have Covid-19.
Online lessons will still be available for anybody who is not ready to return to face-to-face teaching.
Summer Showcase Concert 2021
I have been in touch with a venue to host the Summer Showcase Concert, however, it is still impossible to say when, or if, it will go ahead this year. While social distancing measures are currently set to be abolished on June 21st, venues will still need to go-ahead from the local authority in order to host events for more than thirty people.
For now, it is unwise to set a date for the Showcase, though I am hopefully that as the future becomes clearer we can go ahead with a concert in some form this year.
